  • Laird of Muck, Lawrence MacEwan on Beinn Airein, the highest hill on the island. The island has been in the hands of the MacEwan family since 1896, for four generations. <br />

Muck is the smallest of four main islands in the Small Isles, part of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. It measures roughly 2.5 miles (4 km) east to west and has a population of around 30, mostly living near the harbour at Port Mòr.

A rugged, foreboding pinnacle, the hillock was the ideal spot to erect a castle but the native Welsh princes of Powys occupied the hilltop for only a few decades.

  • At the Bobo Shanti compound in St. Andrew, Jamaica, a hilltop enclave dedicated to following the teachings of King Emannuel Charles Edwards. Life is highly ordered around the precept of preparing for all black Jamaicans to return to Africa, and specifically Ethiopia. The Bobo Shanti use the King James Bible extensively in their worship and theology, singing Psalms everyday.
