Hauling Sheep off Island, Hebrides, Scotland
Gathering sheep from the small island of Vuia Mor with Norrie MacKay and his crew of fellow crofters. Near Bhaltos on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. The island is part of the common grazing and each crofter has grazing rights for a certain number of sheep. Hauling them by boat is an old tradition here and good time is had by all, even if it is very hard work. Fuaigh Mòr is an island in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. It is off the west coast of Lewis near Great Bernera in Loch Roag. It is 84 hectares (0.32 square miles) and 67 metres (220 feet) at its highest point.
